Why is speaking out against the war and other policies considered treason

Freedom of speech is a corner stone of America . If Americans did not speak

It is truly sad that we've become so politically polarized that asking

questions or being willing to engage in honest debate is seen as a sign of
weakness at best, and treason at worst.

Speaking out against any war has never been treasonous in this

Okay, I may be exaggerating a little but I don't see why people don't

understand that it is PATROITC to question the policies of the Government

& to Peacefully Protest about it.

There is a reason the Freedom of Speech is in the First Amendment & is the
first thing mentioned. What ever happened to the core idea, “I may not
agree with what you say, but I will die for ur right to say it.”

As long as the government & its operations aren’t interrupted then why
can’t people protest? Why can’t they say what’s on their mind & try
to tell others. Now if they encourage the troops to run away or to refuse
to serve then I have a problem with it. But, we let those who are against
abortion speak, we let Animal Rights activist speak, we even let people who
dare to think differently then we do speak. That is what America is all
about.

As a former service man I feel betrayed for involving our troops in Iran,
the war had no reason & was a political game played by Dick Cheney. I
don’t protest against the war, because enough people are doing it for
me. I did use my vote to protest it & I will use it again; I just have
the misfortune to be living in a Red State, so my vote in the last
election was canceled out.

The Freedom of Speech is a right that goes as far as the other person’s
nose. As long as the protestors don’t force their views on people,
don’t incite a riot, & don’t try to physically stop the war then they
are free to protest as much as they want, & I have the freedom to listen
to them or not. The Freedom of Speech right isn’t just given to the
people we like, you have to give that same right to the people who have
views that you don’t like. If you don’t do that then you cancel out
the freedom.

Speaking out against the war is not considered treason, you can
Princess Cuddles
say such things as ''I think that this war sucks'' you are a citizen with

voting rights. The problems lays in the that officials in the government

are saying things, or people in the military. when you are in positions

of either power, or you are in the military which is directly owned by the

government you have a different set of standards. A General in the
military does not have the same legal freedom of speech as a common
civilian, the reason being is that it is their face & their voice that is
on the military. If a general said I hate the president & all that he
stands for. then he is breaking the law. Yes he might be a volunteer, but
he is paid by the military & therefore should abide by the rules that they
have set forth for public affairs.

treason
the crime of betraying a nation or a sovereign by acts considered
dangerous to security.

treason is defined as the above, speaking about is not considered treason
as you are not creating security risks unless you are in a position of
power & know more than the normal person, they you could be risking lives.
Mostly treason is if you sell or give secrets to someone else, you can
commit treason by creating policies if you know that those policies could
decrease security.

Just make sure you speak out against the WAR & NOT THE TROOPS. Those men

& women must be honored! They are true patriots. My daughter has served
two tours in this war, including in Iraq & was shot at, had the vehicle in
front of her hit an IED, she saw a friend shot down & she was involved in
firefights with the enemy. Make no mistake, those young men & women over
there are living very dangerously. Pray for them.
